The Value of The Visit
Arizona native shares story on how visit helped her decide between two schools

BY SARAH MITCHELL

I am a recent graduate of Ironwood High School in Glendale, Arizona and I’m now getting ready to head off to the University of Arizona in Tucson!

I moved twice during my high school years, so you could say that I started my college search a little late. I went in to see the guidance counselor a couple months into my senior year. I liked the area around Arizona State University and I knew that they gave tuition waivers to the top 10% of students in a graduating class, so I had always thought of myself as attending school there, but I had no idea where to start. She gave me an application to ASU and U of A and urged me to make a college visit. Just a few weeks later, I was taking my first tour of the ASU campus.
