What To Do If You Slide
Course of action to take when a tarnished year-end report card darkens your mailbox.
BY JONI MAURITZ
I honestly can’t think of a more involved year in a student’s high school
career than the junior year. Why? Because there are so many stresses
overshadowing one’s potential college career - like standardized tests, harder
classes and the all-important college search. As most guidance counselors will
agree, the junior year is most crucial in the eyes of admissions counselors
everywhere. The difficulty of course load, grades and test scores are carefully
reviewed and evaluated to help predict one’s potential performance in college.

begin rehearsing different ways to say, “Would you like fries with that?” just
yet. Here’s a course of action to take should a tarnished year-end report card
darken your mailbox.
