CUTTING EDGE CAREERS

Did you ever think about being a Geophysicist when you grew up? How about a Reservoir Engineer? Chances are you probably do not know too much about these careers. However, you may find that one of these careers could be right for you!

Geophysicists | Geologists | Production Engineers | Reservoir Engineers | Drilling Engineers | Chemical Engineers

Geophysicists have been at the forefront of one of the biggest technical advances of the last decade.

Geologists search for oil and gas by studying rock formations and using microscopes to examine rocks fragments (cuttings) from wells that are being drilled.

Once the well is completed, the Production Engineer takes over. His/her job is to analyze, interpret, and optimize the performance of individual wells.

Reservoir Engineers are responsible for estimating the amount of oil or gas that can be recovered from a reservoir.

A Drilling Engineer must manage the complex drilling operation including both the people and technology.

Chemical Engineers keep well bores free from contaminants and control subsurface microbes that could create unpleasant by-products.
